A great weekend of Country Music at the 10th Annual Evangeline Country Music Festival
Country music performers will make you vibrate at the 10th annual Evangeline Country Music Festival which will be held October 11 to 13 at the Acadian Musical Village, Abram-Village.
The festival begins on Friday, October 11, with the Legends of Country Music at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Paid admission at the door only. This is always a very popular event and a large attendance is expected, so come in early to get your favorite seat. Over twenty local country music performers will take the stage to pay tribute to country music legends. such as George Jones, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Zacharie Richard, Tammy Wynette and many more. Participants will try their luck at performing the sound of various farm animals in an all-fun contest. There will be a 50/50 draw and lunch will be available. This activity is reserved to 19 years and over. There will be prizes for the best-dressed cowboy and cowgirl.
The festival continues on Saturday, October 12, at 8:30 p.m., with the ever popular country music stage show Tip To Tip Hoedown with the high-energy popular group of P.E.I. performers: Peggy Clinton, Johnny Ross, Alphy Perry, Vincent & Cathy Doucette and Steve Perry. They will make it a big music party and dancing space will be made available. Tickets for this activity can be purchased in advance at the Acadian Musical Village or from Peggy Clinton and will also be available at the door. This activity is also reserved to adults 19 years and over. The organizing committee encourages attendees to wear their cowboy hat & boots for this activity!
On Sunday, October 13, plan to attend the Cowboy\Cowgirl Musical Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Breakfast and dinner dishes with roast turkey and all the trimmings will be available along with delicious homemade desserts, tea, coffee and juice. Music will be provided by Paula Arsenault, Marie Arsenault and Robert Doucette. This is an excellent way to celebrate Thanksgiving.
