The next show during the Mont-Carmel Fall & Winter Concert Series, presented by the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel (CDCPMC), will take place virtually on Sunday, February 6 at 7 p.m. on its Facebook page. This show, presented in partnership with the Indigenous Tourism Association of PEI, will feature Mi’kmaq Heritage Actors.
Mi'kmaq Heritage Actors is an indigenous group from Prince Edward Island who offer a performance that is rich with storytelling, singing and dancing. Over the course of the last few years, they have put a lot of focus on writing new songs and legends to be intergrated into their stage performance. Thanks to their impressive performances around their drum, they have been invited to several Mawiomi's and they perform regularly at The Guild and the Confederation Centre of the Arts to showcase their indigenous culture. This group loves to share their indigenous culture, their legends and their language with others.
This free hour-long show featuring Mi’kmaq Heritage Actors will take place this Sunday at 7 p.m. on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CDCPMC. Each week, until March 27, a free virtual show will take place on Sunday night on our Facebook page. The artists being featured during the rest of the month of February are: La Famille LeBlanc (February 13), Inn Echo (February 20) and Güiza featuring Luisa Güiza, Tom Gammons and Mario Jones (Febraury 27).
The mandate of the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel is to showcase, develop and promote the rich cultural heritage of Mont-Carmel.
