ABRAM-VILLAGE - June 9, 2021 - The Village musical acadien in Abram-Village will be showcasing some of Prince Edward Island's best performers – including provincial, regional and national music award finalists and winners – during its all-new "Summer Cabaret" series of shows on Friday nights from July 9 to Aug. 27 from 8 to 11 p.m. The shows will feature country, folk, Acadian, rock, contemporary and traditional music, but no matter what the genre, audiences are guaranteed to be thoroughly entertained.
These shows will be presented in the Acadian Festival’s barn (right next to the Village musical acadien), which will be festively transformed and decorated in a cabaret atmosphere.
Here is the series schedule:
• July 9: Kurk Bernard
• July 16: Larry Campbell and Marcella Richard
• July 23: Eddy Quinn
• July 30: Dave Doyle
• August 6: Jordan LeClair
• August 13: Jonny Ray Arsenault
• August 20: Sandra Jones
• August 27: Cory Gallant
The performers on each of these eight nights of musical entertainment will be accompanied by a house band, made up of the talented and experienced musicians Keelin Wedge (fiddle, mandolin, guitar), Rodney Arsenault (drums), Danny MacNevin (electric guitar) and Remi Arsenault (electric bass). The band, which can easily adapt to any musical style, will also perform some of its own numbers.
Bar service and snacks will be available. The "Evangeline Chase the Ace" draws, currently held on Friday nights inside the VMA, will be moved to the Summer Cabaret until the ace is drawn.
