WELLINGTON – June 2, 2021 – The all-new and highly attractive provincial francophone tourism guide, "Cet été à l’Île” (This Summer on the Island), is now available – after months of anticipation. It is available in both paper and online formats (for PDF version, visit http://www.shorturl.at/syIKZ).

"This bilingual guide has been prepared to make visitors and Islanders more aware of the wonderful Acadian, Francophone and bilingual attractions located throughout our province and the fantastic tourism and cultural activities that will be taking place here this summer," explains Paul D. Gallant, president of Les Productions Cuisine à Mémé, which produced the guide.

This 20-page publication, which is adorned with beautiful photos, is primarily intended to provide people with a calendar of francophone activities for the summer. "In fact, the centre spread of the guide, which contains the calendar, can be detached from the guide and placed on your refrigerator door, for example, so that you can refer to it regularly throughout the summer to see what's happening each day," says Gallant.

The guide also contains a short welcome message, a brief history of the Island's Acadians written by historian Georges Arsenault, a provincial map showing the locations of attractions and activities, a list of festivals and events, and advertisements from various attractions, events and community partners. 20,000 copies of the guide have been printed.

"Cet été à l’Île", which was produced in collaboration with Triquetra Entertainment of Charlottetown, is inserted in the June 2nd edition of the French newspaper La Voix acadienne. It will also be available at the province’s tourist information centres (upon request only because of the pandemic). As well, copies will also be delivered to the publication's various partners during that week for distribution to their visitors this summer.
