Veranda in concert via Facebook LIVE!

The virtual concert series organized by The Evangeline Bluegrass and Traditional Music Festival Association will come to a close this upcoming Sunday evening.  After five successful shows, the sixth and final show will take place on March 28 at 7 p.m. and will feature the group Veranda from Québec.

Veranda is a collaboration between comedian and actress Catherine-Audrey Lachapelle and multi-instrumentalist Léandre Joly-Pelletier. Both artists come from a very diverse background which is what gives such richness to their work.  From high lonesome bluegrass to intimate folk ballads, this duo offers a fresh take on classic Country music.  Their music is filled with sweet harmonies and soulful melodies. Their first English EP was released in 2019 and was classified amongst the best albums released mid-year by ICI Musique in 2019.  Veranda currently has a new record of original French bluegrass music that blends traditional and contemporary, simplicity and virtuosity.  Imagine a place way out in the countryside, with Dolly Parton, Ralph Stanley and Emmylou Harris singing under the pines; that’s where Veranda calls home.

This free show by Veranda will be streamed LIVE from our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FestivalBluegrassEvangeline this Sunday, March 28, at 7 p.m. and is the last of six shows that took place since February 21.

Previous shows included The Spinney Brothers (February 21), The Stiff Family (February 28), JP Cormier (March 7), Janet McGarry & Wildwood (March 14) as well as Moyenne Rig (March 21).  All past shows are available for viewing on our Facebook page.
