The fourth show of the Bluegrass and Traditional music concert series organized by the Evangeline Bluegrass and Traditional Music Festival Association, will take place on Sunday, March 14 at 7 p.m. and will feature the Island group Janet McGarry & Wildwood.
This group needs very little introduction to the Island music scene as lead singer Janet McGarry has been one of the top performing female bluegrass performers in P.E.I., Atlantic Canada and abroad. Janet and Serge Bernard have performed for many years at bluegrass festivals and many other events throughout Eastern Canada and beyond. Janet is a multi-award-winning recording artist with several recordings to her name. She is a five-time winner of the “Female Vocalist of the Year” Award which earned her a “Masters” at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Music Awards. She is also a proud “Daughter of Bluegrass”, a group of International leading women in Bluegrass.
For this show, Janet will be joined by Serge Bernard on guitar, banjo, mandolin and harmony vocals, Blake Crockett on guitar and vocals, Denise MacLeod on fiddle and vocals as well as Gail Mullen on upright bass and vocals.
This free show by Janet McGarry & Wildwood will be streamed LIVE from our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FestivalBluegrassEvangeline.
