JP Cormier in concert via Facebook LIVE!

The Evangeline Bluegrass and Traditional Music Festival Association is pleased to announce the artist who will be presenting the next Facebook LIVE performance during its’ concert series featuring bluegrass and traditional music.

The third of six shows will feature singer-songwriter from Nova Scotia JP Cormier and will take place on Sunday, March 7, at 7 p.m.  

At the age of 5, JP began teaching himself to play the guitar. When he was 9 years old, he won his first guitar competition against 30 other players 4 times his age. By his mid teens, he was playing a variety of stringed instruments, including the fiddle, mandolin and banjo. He recorded his first album of bluegrass instrumentals at 16, which led to 10 years of living and performing in the US. His time there included many memorable nights at the Grand Ole Opry with artists such as Waylon Jennings, Marty Stuart, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Charlie Louvin and Vince Gill.

Since returning to Canada, JP has released over a dozen award-winning albums. His impressive body of work has earned him a loyal fan base and multiple award nominations and wins. He continues to dazzle and delight audiences while performing 250 shows a year.

This free show by JP Cormier will be streamed LIVE from our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FestivalBluegrassEvangeline. Each week until March 28, a free LIVE show will take place on Sunday night starting at 7 p.m. on our Facebook page.  Over the course of the upcoming weeks, numerous artists will be featured, including Janet McGarry & Wildwood from Prince Edward Island (March 14), Moyenne Rig from New Brunswick (March 21) and the group Veranda from Québec (March 28).
