A new employee and a departure at the PEI French Health Network.

WELLINGTON (PEI), November 2, 2020 – The PEI French Health Network (PEIFHN) has movement on its team! We are pleased to welcome Nicole Yeba as the Projects and Communications Manager. She will support the development and implementation of the network’s projects and initiatives and manage communications strategies and tools.

Nicole has been working in the Acadian and Francophone community since last summer. She arrived in the madness of the Acadian World Congress, she worked for the Société acadienne et francophone de l’Î.-P.É. (previously SSTA) and La Belle-Alliance. She is involved in the community and recently joined the board of directions of Actions Femmes Î.-P.-É.

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Nicole studied in journalism at Concordia University. She has completed various communications and journalism internships in Montreal and in Brussels, Belgium, including an internship in the Communications Department at the McGill University Health Centre. Nicole is looking forward to taking on new challenges in the Island’s francophone community! 

In parallel to this addition to the team, Assistant Director Karine Gallant has transitioned to new professional commitment. She shares “I am sad to be leaving my job in the Health Network’s stimulating files, such as Healthy Early Years and the Integration Bilingual Human Resources strategy, but I am convinced that the passionate people in place will be able to make interesting progress in the coming years to improve the offer of French-language services and programs in PEI.”

Karine has been in her position since the beginning of 2019 and has been responsible for the administration and management of several projects and working on committees related to the Health Network’s activities.

The PEI French Health Network is a non-profit organization that collaborates with various partners in order to improve access to quality French-language health services and programs for Prince Edward Island’s Acadian and Francophone population. The organization brings together representatives from target community groups, educational facilities, health professionals, health service managers and the provincial government. It is also one of 16 networks that make up the Société Santé en français and Healthbound 2018?2023: Toward Access. The PEI French Health Network is funded by Health Canada within the framework of the Roadmap for Canada’s Official Languages 2018?2023.
