WELLINGTON, PEI, October 15, 2020 - The PEI French Health Network would like to remind francophone and immersion students in Prince Edward Island interested in pursuing medical studies that the Université de Sherbrooke reserves a spot for Prince Edward Island each year.

Under an agreement between the governments of New Brunswick and Quebec, spaces are available in various health programs at some Quebec universities for francophone students from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. To be eligible, students must first meet the admission criteria of the programs in question.

The agreement therefore provides for a place in medicine, at the Université de Sherbrooke only, for a student from Prince Edward Island. The agreement also provides for reduced tuition fees. If there are no applications in medicine from PEI, applications to other health programs may be considered.

Applications for admission must first go through the office of the person in charge of special programs in the Faculty of Science at the Université de Moncton. The deadline to send an admission application is November 1, 2020.
