The third show taking place during the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival, organized by the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel (CDCPMC), is taking place on Sunday, September 22 at 7 pm at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall.
The show will feature Island singer Josée Boudreau accompanied by Craig Fair as well as the Big River Band featuring Nick Arsenault, Peter Arsenault and Pierre Poirier.
Josée Boudreau is a performing artist who has appeared in numerous theatrical productions across the country over the past 20 years. A graduate of Randolph Academy, you may have seen her on stage at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in productions such as Évangéline, Mamma Mia, The Buddy Holly Story and Anne of Green Gables. Craig Fair is originally from Ontario, and made Prince Edward Island his permanent home in 2020. After spending 18 seasons with the Charlottetown Festival as a performer and musical director, he launched his own company in 2022 called Craig Fair Music Productions. Since that launch, he has produced nine world-class shows and employed over 75 artists from Prince Edward Island. After working together for 10 years in the theater industry, Josée and Craig began collaborating on various projects in 2019. Their most recent collaboration was Super Trouper: A Night of ABBApresented at the PEI Brewing Company in August. During this performance in Mont-Carmel, they will present a variety of their favorite songs.
The Big River Band is made up of three Acadians from the Évangéline region who love old country, especially the well-known Johnny Cash classics like Folsom Prison and Walk the Line, but also other less popular songs that are just as captivating and fun to discover, such as Doggone Lonesome and Blue Train. The band's style is simple, with no fanfare, as “young Johnny” did in his early days, placing more emphasis on the story behind the songs. Adding a unique sense of humor to their live shows, the band is made up of singer-songwriter Nick Arsenault, bassist Pierre Poirier and drummer Peter Arsenault.
The show will start at 7:00 p.m. and the doors of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall (5786 Route 11, Mont-Carmel) open at 6:15 p.m. During the evening, spectators will be able to buy 50/50 tickets and the canteen will be open. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for members of our Cooperative, $8 for students and free for preschoolers. Given that seating is limited, folks are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at www.cooperativeculturelledemontcarmel.com. If any tickets are left, they will be made available for purchase at the door on the night of the show.
Tickets are also available for purchase on site for the 4th and final show of the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival taking place on Sunday, September 29, featuring Jonathan Arsenault (accompanied by Louise Arsenault and Shane Arsenault) and The Ross Family.
The mandate of the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel is to showcase, develop and promote the rich cultural heritage of Mont-Carmel.
