Opening Concert of the 15th edition of the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival!

The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel (CDCPMC) is pleased to announce that the 15th edition of the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival will be taking place at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall.

The first of three shows will take place on Sunday, September 8 at 7 p.m. at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall and will feature Moyenne Rig from New Brunswick as well as Island-based group composed of Kurk Bernard, Joey Doucette and Jamie Matthews!

Moyenne Rig is an Acadian country group inspired by bluegrass tunes. The group is made up of 4 teenagers from Saint John, New Brunswick - Martin Bourque, Noah Ouellette, Jeremy Richard and Jacob Ouellette. Although they are childhood friends, Moyenne Rig only saw the light of day in the fall of 2018, when they were just 11 years old, thanks to the Musimaniacs music program at the Centre scolaire Samuel-de-Champlain in Saint John.   Since then, the group has performed at festivals and shows all over the Maritimes, Quebec and even France.  Don't let the group's young age fool you! Moyenne Rig already has a full repertoire, including eleven original songs and many more that will get you moving.   They have energy, talent and are the next generation of Acadian music!

Kurk Bernard, Joey Doucette and Jamie Matthews are a country music group from the West Prince region of Prince Edward Island.  For more than two years, they have been performing on various stages in Prince Edward Island.  Their repertoire includes some of country music's greatest classics.  Together, these three performers create beautiful harmonies that are sure to give you goose bumps!

The show will start at 7:00 p.m. and the doors of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall (5786 Route 11, Mont-Carmel) open at 6:15 p.m.  During the evening, spectators will be able to buy 50/50 tickets and the canteen will be open. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for members of our Cooperative, $8 for students and free for preschoolers. Given that seating is limited, folks are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at  www.cooperativeculturelledemontcarmel.com.  If any tickets are left, they will be made available for purchase at the door on the night of the show.  Tickets for our other shows taking place during the Grand Ruisseau Song Festival can be purchased on site during this show.

The mandate of the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel is to showcase, develop and promote the rich cultural heritage of Mont-Carmel.
