The artists taking the stage during the Closing Concert of the Mont-Carmel Summer Concert Series!

The eighth and final show of the 17th edition of the Mont-Carmel Concert Series will take place on Sunday, August 25, and will feature New Brunswick singer/songwriters Daniel Goguen and Daniel Léger, Salt Water Dollies (Keelin Wedge and Christine Cameron accompanied by Rémi Arsenault) and fiddlers Peter Arsenault and Albert Arsenault accompanied by their sister Helen Bergeron and Nick Arsenault.

Daniel Goguen and Daniel Léger both have successful musical careers.  Daniel Goguen has recorded 6 albums and two of his songs were #1 Songs of the Year, namely: Les Backroads in 2014 and Finalement la fin de semaine in 2015. In 2016, he won the Prix Étoile Stingray at the Festival Western de Saint-Tite in Quebec.  For his part, Daniel Léger has produced 5 albums, was the winner of the 2002 Gala de la chanson de Caraquet, wrote the theme song for the 2009 World Acadian Congress, was nominated at the 2009 ADISQ Gala for Country Album of the Year, and won the Édith Butler Award in 2013.  Their new show, entitled La route nous appelle, features both artists' greatest hits, as well as classics from the Acadian repertoire, which they perform together.

Salt Water Dollies is an alternative folk duo with Celtic and traditional influences.  Keelin Wedge is an award-winning Canadian artist and multi-instrumentalist who currently lives in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. She is one of the musicians for Lennie Gallant (Juno Award winner), Sirène et Matelot and Fiddlers' Sons. She has also performed with the Juno-award-winning Ennis Sisters. Keelin currently has three albums to her credit, two of which are self-produced. Christine Cameron is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Wellington and currently living in Summerside. She is known for her creative harmonies and powerful voice, both angelic and haunting. She plays accordion, guitar, percussion and bass. Christine has shared the stage with many popular Maritime musicians.  Keelin and Christine are a true case of opposites attract when it comes to their voices, and together they produce a smooth, harmonious sound unlike any other.  For this performance, they will be accompanied by Rémi Arsenault.

The evening will end with a typical Acadian kitchen party!  Peter and Albert Arsenault are well-known fiddlers from the Évangéline region. Their fiddle rhythms are sure to get your toes tapping. They'll be joined by their sister Helen Bergeron and Nick Arsenault.
