The artists taking the stage on July 14 in Mont-Carmel!

The Mont-Carmel Summer Concert Series is underway every Sunday night until August 25.

The artists who will be performing at the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall on Sunday, July 14, are the traditional musical group T’Monde from Louisiana, the Cuban group Montuno Cubano as well as Island fiddler Cynthia MacLeod.

Three remarkably accomplished young musicians come together in T'Monde, the Louisiana phenomenon that Offbeat magazine called "a creative fusion of classic country and out-of-the-box Cajun music". With a combined 10 Grammy Award nominations between members Drew Simon, Megan Constantin and Kelli Jones, T'Monde brings influences ranging from early country music to French and Creole ballads to today's Cajun music. Formed in 2011, T'Monde has traveled throughout the U.S. and around the world, showing that this small band can produce a big sound. Whether it's with their instruments or their voices, these three continue to showcase their unique sound that's unmatched in today's Cajun music.

Montuno Cubano is a lively band whose repertoire includes bolero, guaracha, salsa, mambo, rumba, conga, son Cubano, punto guajira, suca suca, and cha-cha-cha.  They perform original music by Jorge Peña and traditional Cuban classics with Jorge’s arrangements.  With passionate vocals and raw energy, Montuno Cubano creates a unique bond between the music and the audience.

Fiddler Cynthia MacLeod is one of PEI’s finest ambassadors of traditional music. Well known for her energetic performances, she has released five albums and has toured across Canada and the US, most recently in the New England states in April 2024. In 2023, she started an entertainment company called PEI Kitchen Parties, providing authentic experiences for private and corporate events.

The show will start at 7:00 p.m. and the doors of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall (5786 Route 11, Mont-Carmel) open at 6:15 p.m.  During the evening, spectators will be able to buy 50/50 tickets and the canteen will be open. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for members of our Cooperative, $8 for students and free for preschoolers. Given that seating is limited, folks are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at  www.cooperativeculturelledemontcarmel.com.  If any tickets are left, they will be made available for purchase at the door on the night of the show.

The mandate of the Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel is to showcase, develop and promote the rich cultural heritage of Mont-Carmel.
