Terry Melanson and Jordan LeClair to get everyone dancing in Abram-Village

ABRAM-VILLAGE – Jan. 12, 2022 – Those who enjoy dancing to country-rock music will be able to dance to their little heart’s content Saturday, Jan. 28, as the Village musical acadien in Abram-Village welcomes two fantastic singers and musicians: Terry Melanson from Moncton, NB, and Jordan LeClair from Tignish, PEI.

The evening kicks off with a rowdy set from Terry Melanson, who formerly sang lead for the extremely popular New Brunswick bands Acajun and AcadieParty Band. This solid-voiced guitar player, who’s been performing since the 90s, was hugely influenced by the likes of Alabama, Randy Travis and Glen Campbell. He was featured on two of Acajun’s award-winning albums in 2009 and 2013. When he decided to go solo, he took two years to write and develop his materiel; he then headed to Nashville to record his 12-song, self-titled tour de force, featuring both French-Acadian and English songs. Six of his songs reached No. 1 in the francophone radio charts of Atlantic Canada and Quebec. He’ll be bringing his regular backup band from New Brunswick to the Island.

LeClair, who’ll be performing the second set, is well-known around Abram-Village as he has played there many times over the years. A local favorite, he has nearly 25 years of stage experience. He originally found his love for entertaining crowds through his family. He likes to present a mixture of country, southern rock, rock and folk music during his performances. He’ll be backed up by the Village musical acadien’s summer Cabaret Band: Rémi Arsenault, Danny McNevin, Pascal Miousse and Rodney Arsenault.

Organizers are promising this evening will be a heck of a lot of fun. The dance, which is reserved for adults only, kicks off at 9 p.m. Admission is $15. The event is sponsored by Canadian Heritage.
