The Conseil acadien de Rustico and the Farmers’ Bank of Rustico are pleased to present an in-person show during the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie.  This show will take place at the Cymbria Lions Club on Sunday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m.

The first part of the show will feature a trio formed by Louise Arsenault, Jonathan Arsenault, Rémi Arsenault.  The second half of the show will feature none other than renowned singer/songwriter Lennie Gallant!

Former member of the group Barachois, Louise Arsenault is known for her vibrant and energetic fiddle playing style inspired by Acadian kitchen parties.  Add in Jonathan Arsenault, Louise’s son who is an incredible musician representing the second generation, as well as Rémi Arsenault, accompanist extrodinaire, and together their energy resonates a joie-de-vivre as they take their audiences on a wild musical adventure!

For his part, Lennie Gallant was born in the village of Rustico, Prince Edward Island and is recognized as one of Canada’s leading songwriters and performers. Lennie’s songs tell the stories of many folks from Acadie : fishemen, miners as well as lovers both lost and found.  He has won many awards, was named to the Order of Canada and most recently, his song « Peter’s Dream » was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Lennie has shared the stage with artists such as Roch Voisine, Jimmy Buffett, Lucinda Williams, Daniel Lanois, Chris Isaak, and several symphony orchestras. He has released 13 solo albums, including 3 in French, has performed internationally, and even had one of his albums taken up to the International Space Station for the crew to enjoy.

The show will start at 7:30 p.m. and the doors of the Cymbria Lions Club (2184, Church Road, New Glasgow) will open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 each (+ tax and fees) and can be purchased at  www.conseilacadien.com.
