CHARLOTTETOWN – Feb. 7, 2019 – All those wishing to learn about the rules, regulations and etiquette of Canadian and PEI driving are invited to attend a free workshop on the Canadian Highway Code Saturday, March 2, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean in Charlottetown.
This information session will be delivered in French by Joe Byrne, longtime instructor with the Abegweit Driving School of Charlottetown.
Chérine Stevula, coordinator of RDÉE PEI’s LIENS project, explains the workshop is aimed primarily to French-speaking newcomers to Canada and PEI, but is also opened to anyone else who is interested.
“The rules of the road can vary from one province to the next as well as from one country to the next, so it’s extremely important to know the code of the road of the province where we live to avoid accidents, frustrations and traffic violations,” she said.
Stevula notes that the workshop will take place in a classroom setting so participants aren’t required to have a valid driving license. A very light breakfast will be served.
All interested parties must sign up by Feb. 28 by contacting Lora Mazur at 902-370-7333, Ext. 407, or at email@example.com.
