SUMMERSIDE – Dec. 7, 2019 – As it celebrates the 10th anniversary of its resurrection in 2019, the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI will focus on the quality of its events rather than on their quantity. Events coordinator Raymond J. Arsenault announced Thursday night that next year’s 25 or so events (most of which will be undertaken jointly with the Wellington Rural Action Centre) will primarily fall under three headings. The first theme will be the 10th anniversary (reception and comedy night in May and annual meeting in June). The second theme will be the Congrès mondial acadien 2019 (information meeting for service providers, Acadian Golf Tournament and economic forum). The third theme will be networking/learning (lunch-and-learns and business mixers with three chambers). Regular events will also be featured: finals of Ignition contest, Entrepreneurs Gala, dinner-theatre, deep-sea fishing, Co-op and Small Business Week, Francophone Immigration Week and Christmas party. Details can be found at www.rdeeipe.net/activites-a-venir/. Seen at the launch are, from left, Velma Robichaud, officer with the Wellington Rural Action Centre, along with Chamber events coordinator Raymond J. Arsenault, spokesperson Pierre Gallant and board member Léo-Paul Arsenault.
