A « cooler » prize for golfers; last call for registrations

Chris Buote, co-owner of North Rustico Home Hardware, presents a 65-litre Mainline cooler (which keeps ice for up to five days) to Jeannette Gallant, coordinator of the 13th Annual Acadian Golf Tournament, taking place Sunday, Sept. 9. The cooler, valued at $489, will be presented to the golfer who gets closest to the pin at Hole 7 during the tournament, taking place at the Glasgow Hills Golf Club in New Glasgow. This tournament is a fundraiser for the PEI Regional Committee of Les Jeux de l’Acadie. It is organized jointly with the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI.

DEADLINE: The deadline for registration is Tuesday, Sept. 4. To sign up, call (902) 439-2791 or email jeannettegallant@gov.pe.ca. In exchange for the $90 registration fee for individuals and $360 for foursomes, golfers will get a full round of golf, the use of a golf cart, a delicious supper and a chance to win a wide variety of prizes, based on athletic skill or luck.
